Lightweight and flavoursome, these pouches usally are self contained 'just add add water' affairs.
The advantage over traditional 'wet pouches' is they will last longer, lighter and pack into a smaller space.
The disadvantage is that they require water, often hot. A cheat is to fill a dinner pouch in the morning, seal it and then keep it close to your body or elsewhere, and by the time dinner comes around the food will be ready. This needs some fine tuning with different makes of ration.
The main rations in this area are Rieter and Pack'n'go. Pack'n'go supply the military with their pouches for the artic ration packs but are perfectly suited to civilian use and are packed full of energy.
Rieter create premium dehydrated rations that contain the freshest ingredients, the main meals are GM free and the vegetarian choice is much larger.
